ComparisonFitbit - Charge 3 vs Inspire HR

This comparison is about the Inspire HR, not the Inspire without the HR addition. This is very important, because the Fitbit Inspire HR offers much more than the Inspire.

Differences in functionality

Overall, the Fitbit Charge 3 may be slightly more than the Inspire HR. However, the differences are small and manageable:

  • Lot 3 counts floors
  • Charge 3 supports Fitbit Pay
  • The batch 3 offers quick replies
  • Charge 3 is reported with a little more battery life

In terms of hardware, Fitbit has provided Charge 3 with an altimeter. This allows the more expensive fitness tracker to also record floors. The Inspire HR does not have this option because there is no altimeter.

In addition, batch 3 has a NFC chip installed. Charge 3 thus offers the possibility for mobile payment. The manufacturer has his own system here, which is called Fitbit Pay.

The third difference concerns the notifications. Although the Fitbit Inspire HR also delivers the notifications on the display, it does not offer the ability to respond directly through the tape. In batch 3 there is this option, which is called Quick Replies.

The battery life is a bit higher, according to Fitbit, at charge 3 with 7 days than with the Inspire HR. There the battery life is 5 days.

That can both Fitbits

Both fitness trackers have a pulse measurement, can connected GPS and are waterproof. Thus, both Fitbits are suitable for use in the water and for swimming. Sleep analysis, women's health and guided breathing exercises are also on board with both devices.

New purchase: Fitbit Charge 3 or Inspire HR

Let's come to the crucial question, which of the two fitness trackers is better? In terms of the functions for a fitness tracker, both devices are almost identical. The difference is only in the count for floors. In my view, not an elementary important point. In addition, the measurement often has problems.

The Charge 3 is a bit smarter than the Inspire HR. It supports quick replies via the display. Significantly more smart features are not.

For the extra charge, you also get Fitbit Pay with the Charge 3. Overall, the Inspire HR is a real competitor to the Charge 3* and beats it in price. When it comes to the new purchase you are also very well served with the Inspire HR* and save some money.

However, it is important to know the difference between Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR . The Inspire without HR is not an alternative and in no way a competitor for the Charge 3.

Should you switch?

If you own a Charge 3 it is not worth switching over. With the Fitbit Charge 3 you have the better device of the two and would loose a few functions with the switch. Here only the argument design would be a criterion.

In the comparison between Fitbit Charge 2 and Inspire HR, however, a switch is worthwhile. In Alta's case, the differences between Fitbit Alta HR and Inspire HR also speak in favor of an upgrade.
