Differences between Galaxy Watch Active2 and Versa 2
All in all, the Samsung Watch Galaxy Active2* offers you a little more in hardware than the Versa 2 from Fitbit*. But the Versa 2 also has a few trumps.Battery life and charging
The Fitbit Versa 2 is clearly ahead in terms of battery life. The performance here is up to 5 days. However, the battery life drops to 2 days when the Always-On Display is switched on.The Samsung Watch Galaxy Active 2 only has a battery life of 2 days. This is already better than the Apple Watch 5, but still worse than Fitbit (see also Fitbit Versa 2 vs Apple Watch 5).
Fitbit clearly wins the race in terms of battery life. In my opinion also a very important factor for the purchase decision.
However, the Samsung Watch Galaxy Active2 can convince with Qi-charging. You can charge the watch without a cable with it. However, the watch must still be put down for this.
The Fitbit Versa 2 must be charged via a charging station. No standard like USB-C or Micro-USB is used here. Each Fitbit has its own charging station.
GPS
The Samsung watch is again ahead in the GPS point. There you get a built-in GPS and can thus record your routes without a smartphone. With the Fitbit Versa 2 you only have connected GPS. The connection to your smartphone is used to record your routes.
LTE
You have the possibility to buy the Samsung Watch Galaxy Active2 with LTE support. You can use the watch completely without your smartphone. The Fibit Versa 2 does not offer this option.Size and display
The Fitbit Versa 2 has a square design with 1.34-inch. The Samsung Watch Galaxy Active2 has a round design with 1.5-inch. However, both devices rely on an AMOLED display.Samsung or Fitbit - which is better?
From a technical point of view, the Samsung Watch Galaxy Active2* offers you more. It depends on what you want the watch for.- Fitness, motivation, price and battery life: Fitbit Versa 2*
- Style, GPS and LTE: Samsung Watch Galaxy Active2*
If you buy the watch for motivation and to evaluate your fitness data, I recommend the Fitbit Versa 2*. The app from Fitbit is very simple and well done. Especially the point of motivation is very important for Fitbit. There are also competitions with friends possible. You can also collect Fitbit badges.
At Samsung I think the focus is more on design and special hardware. You get GPS and the option for LTE. Both things that in my opinion are not absolutely necessary. You also have to pay considerably more for that. Visually the Smartwatch looks more elegant and more like a watch. You can also make a good purchase with the Galaxy Watch Active2*. However, it will also cost you more.
