Difference between Fitbit Charge 4 and Fitbit Charge 4 Special EditionWith the Fitbit Charge 3 there was an interesting difference to the Special Edition. But this is no longer the case with Fitbit Charge 4.
Contactless payment (NFC)The decisive point was the contactless payment. This was only possible with the Fitbit Charge 3 SE.
But this is one of the differences between the Fitbit Charge 3 and 4. The normal Fitbit Charge 4 also supports NFC and therefore contactless payment. Whereby the topic is generally a problem with Fitbit.
The manufacturer relies on its own Fitbit Pay system. Unfortunately, only certain and few banks are supported. I have already written more about this in my Experience with Fitbit Pay. Although I am generally a very big fan of contactless payment, Fitbit has not yet convinced here. Even I still use my smartphone here.
Special bracelets and colorsThe Fitbit Charge 4 in the Special Edition is equipped with a fabric strap. In addition, the classic bracelet in black is also available.
- Fitbit Charge 4 Special Edition*: Black with fabric wristband
- Fitbit Charge 4*:
- Black, Bracelet and Fitness Tracker (plastic bracelets)
- Rosewood, bracelet and fitness tracker (plastic bracelets)
- Black with blue strap (plastic bracelets)
So the difference is small here too. In my opinion, the purchase of the Special Edition is not worth it. I couldn't recommend a more expensive version of the Fitbit Charge 3 in the Special Edition. There were even other colors on the Fitness Tracker itself.
In my opinion the tape itself is not a decisive point for the purchase decision. There is a large selection of cheap (imitation) wristbands for Fitbit Charge 3 and 4*. Many cost only 10 Euros.
The wristbands from Fitbit Charge 3 and Fitbit Charge 4 are compatible. This should also be very interesting for those who are changing. It does not matter whether you own the Special Edition or the normal version.
