Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR - A big difference!
The small addition HR plays a very important role in the Fitbit Inspire and is decisive for comparison and purchase. The HR stands for Heart Rate and means that the Fitness Tracker can measure the heart rate. The Fitbit Inspire cannot do this. Therefore, in my opinion, the device is not useful without the HR and certainly not comparable. Differences between the Inspire HR and Charge 4
Compared to the Charge 3*, the difference between the Inspire HR* and Charge 4* is a good number bigger.- Charge 3 and 4 count floors
- Charge 3 and 4 support Fitbit Pay (Charge 3 only in the Special Edition)
- Charge 3 and 4 offer Quick Replies
- Charge 3 and 4 are shown with slightly more battery life
- Charge 4 has built-in GPS
- Charge 4 has more fitness functions (Also more than Charge 3)
- Charge 4 has a Spotify control
In this context, the comparison between Fitbit Charge 3 and 4 may also be relevant for you, as many software updates are no longer rolled out for Fitbit Charge 3.
New purchase: Fitbit Charge 4 or Inspire HR
In comparing the Fitbit Inspire HR to Fitbit Charge 3, I have said that the Inspire HR* is a true alternative. Compared to the Charge 4* I think the Fitbit Inspire HR is in a slightly worse light.Especially the built-in GPS makes the new fitness tracker stand out and makes the difference bigger. The floors are still not an important factor in my opinion. However, Fitbit will no longer make many new features available for the older devices, which speaks in favor of purchasing the Fitbit Charge 4*. The manufacturer is probably doing this on purpose to distribute the new models.
By the way, I think the purchase of the Fitbit Charge 4 SE is unnecessary, because there is only one special wristband available. There are no more functions. You can find more about this in the comparison of the Fitbit Charge 4 and Charge 4 SE.
Again I remind you of the big difference between the Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR. The price of the Inspire may be tempting here, but it offers much less and in my opinion is not recommendable.
Should you upgrade?
It is worth to upgrage from the Inspire HR to the Fitbit Charge 4* if you want built-in GPS. Neither the Charge 3 nor the Inspire offer this. If you like Fitbit's new and smart features, then you need to upgrade to Fitbit Charge 4 as well. The Inspire HR will not get many more updates. If you still want just a small, fine fitness tracker, then the Fitbit Inspire HR will still do. If you have a Fitbit Inspire (without HR), I strongly recommend that you upgrade to Charge 4* or at least Inspire HR*.
