Anker SoundCore 2 vs JBL Flip 4 - Which is better?

Size and weight

The appearance is of course a matter of taste. Personally, I would classify the JBL Flip 4 as slightly more elegant. But you have to decide for yourself.

In size, the Anker SoundCore 2 is slightly smaller than the JBL Flip 4. Anker's speaker measures 5.4 x 16.5 x 4.5 cm. JBL here is 6.8 x 17.5 x 7.0 cm. This also makes the SoundCore 2 a lot more compact.

This also affects the weight of the speakers. The Anker SoundCore 2 is 414 grams lighter than the JBL Flip 4, which weighs 515 grams.

Battery life

In terms of battery life, the Anker SoundCore 2 is clearly ahead. The battery lasts up to 24 hours. The JBL Flip 4 offers only 12 hours here, so only half of it.

The charging time is relatively similar. The anchor takes about 3 hours to fully charge. The JBL Flip 4 needs 3.5 hours here.

Waterproof

Both speakers are IPX7 rated. Both are waterproof for up to 30 minutes and 1 meter. So you have neither an advantage nor a disadvantage with the JBL, nor with the anchor.

USB and AUX

You also get an AUX input at the Anchor and JBL speakers. This allows you to play music directly via cable without Bluetooth.

Sound quality

Of course, the sound quality is exciting. Of course, this can be illustrated more easily with a video. In short, the JBL Flip 4* has slightly better bass and treble. Nevertheless, the sound quality of the Anker SoundCore 2* is very convincing and in many cases extremely similar.

Which speaker is better?

All in all, the JBL Flip 4 is only convincing in its design and the slightly more pronounced bass. If you just want to listen to music from time to time, the Anker SoundCore 2* can definitely recommend you. You get a very good Bluetooth speaker for a lot less money.

If you're listening to music with a strong bass, the JBL Flip 4* is a little better for you. But you'll also have to spend a lot more money here. A small advantage of the JBL Flip 4 is JBL Connect Plus. This allows you to connect multiple JBL speakers. But for most people that's not very important.
