Fitbit Versa 4 vs Fitbit Sense 2 - Which is better?

The Fitbit Sense 2 was launched at the same time as the Fitbit Versa 4. But which Fitbit smartwatch is the right one for you?

Fitbit ECG: What is it?

The comparison between the Fitbit Versa 4 and Fitbit Sense 2 only shows one serious difference: The ECG for monitoring the heart rate. In the remaining points, both fitness trackers or fitness watches are identical. By the way, this was already the case with the Fitbit Versa 3 and Fitbit Sense.

The Fitbit Sense 2 is the Fitbit Versa 4 with ECG function

The ECG permanently monitors the heart rhythm specifically for signs of atrial fibrillation. Thus, unlike the Fitbit Versa 4, the Fitbit Sense 2 can detect cardiac arrhythmias and provide alerts.

Comparing the Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Sense 2, which are 2 years apart, the 2nd generation Fitbit Sense has had its sensor optimized to provide a better result.

The ECG is no longer connected to Fitbit Premium and can therefore be used purely by purchasing a Fitbit Sense or Fitbit Sense 2. At the launch of the first generation, a subscription to Fitbit Premium was still mandatory.

Fitbit OS: Google Wallet and Google Maps

Even though Fitbit was taken over by Google, both devices are still based on Fitbit OS. Initially, it was assumed that Wear OS would be used since it is from Google.

However, the navigation on the watch has been revised in the Fitbit Versa 4 and Fitbit Sense 2 compared to the respective predecessors and improved according to Fitbit and Google, respectively.

In addition, both the Fitbit Versa 4 and Fitbit Sense 2 now feature Google Wallet. This is Google's payment service for contactless payments, which is significantly better than Fitbit Pay. Especially the compatibility with banks is better with Google Wallet.

Then there is Google Maps for the Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4, so you can navigate directly via the watch, which I personally find very convenient.
